Verdict: Stylish let down

“Filmmakers like Haneke, Von Trier, Corbet, would praise a filmmaker like Bergman to kingdom come, however Bergman was a deeply intimate filmmaker, purely obsessed with portraying the inner life, Corbet on the other hand seems obsessed with being respected as an arthouse filmmaker. He is too distant, he wants to tackle a subject so he can voyeuristically make it his own, not truly say anything of worth about it or the people in it.”
